  1. Donald, your photography is beyond amazing! I have just spent three days filing your photos by seasons in my bookmarks so that I can look at them throughout the year. When I came across the first photo last week, all I could think was that they reminded me of the works of Thomas Kinkade, only better because yours are of real towns that I dearly love. Your information about the places and how you photographed them really adds interest and a personal touch that is appreciated. Although I live down the road from Longwood Gardens, I visit Lancaster county frequently. Your gorgeous work, done with great effort, fills me with peace and hope for better days to come and remind me, too, of the carefree days of my youth. Your autumn and Christmas shots (my favorite times of the year) speak volumes about fun times and the security of “home”. Thank you so very much for sharing these wonderful photos. You are truly gifted!

    • Wow, thank you so much. Many people have made the same comparison over the years to Kincade and how my work reminds them of his paintings. I appreciate your comments and I am glad to brighten your day. I realize I am not Thomas Kincade but I have been exactly where he has been as far as creativity. What I mean is he unfortunately committed suicide and I have been at that very precipice in the past! Everyone always is so shocked when someone with a gift like he had does something so inconceivable? I completely understand because the drive to be creative can be consuming to the point we judge our worth by our creativity and when that is not up to snuff, depression can take hold. So despite having the amazing ability to create beauty that touches so many, I think he had, much like myself this unseen struggle between the beauty we capture and the way we feel inside that is hard to explain. Hopefully my explanation makes sense.
