I had no intention of going out to look for photos yesterday, but plans changed and the opportunity arose to go out for a bit. I originally spent a few hours up the street from this location shooting a home that had blossoms covering the ground from a beautiful flowering tree that was dropping its blooms. Before I headed home, I took a stroll down the street and noticed this serene scene that was begging to be photographed. I asked the owner to walk in his yard, and he graciously said yes. The home across the street is a bed and breakfast called the Smithton Inn and it was built in 1763, and thanks to the efforts of its new owners, it is a wonderful place to stay for folks visiting the area. This yard had gorgeous flowering trees in purple, pink and white over the last weeks and I never shot anything, but something about the carpet of pink beckoned me to give it a whirl. The wrought iron furniture in white circling the trees added that touch of detail that brought it all together.

Great shot Donald! 🙂
thank you
I understand completely what you said by ‘it was begging to be photographed’ I am glad you did… it looks so serene… well captured
glad you enjoyed looking
Donald, you have such a talent….did you ever think about publishing a book of your photography? i love the small towns you visit, and the way you “capture”.
I put a lot of effort into getting things right. I have done 2 books for myself, but they are too much to try and sell to the public. They are great when you want a one of a kind book for yourself, but for the masses, you need some sort of publisher I think. thanks
You are surrounded by some of the most beautiful flowers and trees I’ve ever seen.
Nothing special really. just spring. The hard part is finding nice structures to go with the trees and flowers, unless you can isolate them by themselves, which is hard. glad you enjoy the pics
Well out west we don’t have such beautiful trees and flowers. We’ve got a lot of cacti, which has it’s own type of beauty, but you’re definitely surrounded with some gorgeous trees and structures.
I guess in comparison to the west, you are correct, but i have seen spring desert photos and that looks pretty impressive as well. We do have some nice buildings, but I see pictures from europe and what is old here is young in comparison, so that is what i think of as neat architecture. Its all what your used too I guess.
Beautiful Photography. I have enjoyed your blog and have nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award.
Thanks for the kind gesture, but I kind of stay low key, so I am not into talking about myself much. thanks
I would love to sit there on a summers day with a book in one hand and a cup of strawberry tea in the other.
Me too, and I dont sit down to relax too often. Thanks
