Honestly I have no idea if that setup is something early settlers used to build a roof on the ground and then raise up or if I am totally clueless.If anyone knows,let me know.
I believe it was to store hay or something like that and could be lowered as the haw was used so it could best protect the hay as the pile got lower. Looks like all the hay’s gone, a sign of a tough winter.
