Cotton Candy Dream

This red barn caught my eye from a Ridge I was driving on because the sun was shining on it. The only problem was the sun completely disappeared before I made it there. I knocked and got permission to get a shot and this was the best I could muster! The way the trees and bushes were positioned prevented me from finding a view that included the whole barn with any nice views of the snow.

  1. apologies, but the scene just inspired a little poetic thinking. Thanks for sharing.

    A red wall stands
    where the field forgets itself.
Snow swells the shrubs into white fists.
    Wire sinks between posts,
    nearly gone.
    Leaves stay put,
    brown paper stitched to ice.

      • Thank you. I have completed a couple of 365s in photography and I wanted to take on a new one, but I have suffered a spinal injury a while back and carrying a camera is too much each day, so I swapped a camera for my notes app on the phone. I can’t say I always hit the mark, or that they are too in any main stream sense, but they are me and that feels right. Photography used to let me
Capture a fleeting moment in lines and color, and now it’s poetry.

Keep up the fine work with your camera. I have loved your work over the years.

      • Hoping you find healing for your back! Some poetry just does not make sense to me but I really thought you had created something that expressed your thoughts quite well. I don’t even want to try my hand at that, it would be an utter disaster.
