What might have been a nice shot of some local girls heading home from the one room school is ruined by these obnoxious neon safety vests. I still don’t really believe they do much but look ugly on the user but that’s how it goes. If you can’t see a group like this in broad daylight,it might be time to turn in the drivers license.

I assume road workers that have to wear them probably agree with you. Maybe they left for school in the early morning hours!
this was a project of a local penn state extension office if i recall correctly.For someone who really loves capturing Amish life,they are just hideous and are in direct opposition to their normal simple attire,which is part of the beauty to me.it really surprised me they accepted the bright neon so easily actually.road workers I can understand.there cars are going by at 70 mph.
They sure aren’t very photogenic, the vests, that is!

for them it would be total darkness to be the right light.
